Adventures at Borderland State Park

I've always been fascinated by abandoned houses. I would be too scared to go in, but I couldn't help but wonder about the people who used to live there. 

Then, this past weekend, I got the unexpected chance to explore an old, abandoned property.

When we decided to go to Borderland State Park, I had no idea this was in store for us -- we just decided to go check out the park as a potential wedding photo location. But when we showed up, we discovered that there was an old mansion, farm house, and abandoned cabin we could explore. Score!

Biagio and I had an absolute blast walking around the park and exploring the properties. Below are some of my favorite photos of the day (and at the very end, a bonus fact about the park that I found out after we left).  

Fun fact: That last photo was shot inside the cabin used in filming Shutter Island. Here's the scene it appears in (warning: it's kiiiinda creepy and graphic ...).
