The Moms' Birthday
When I was really young, my mom and her identical twin sister would make me a bet I couldn't refuse. On our week-long beach vacations, the Moms bet me one whole quarter that I couldn't tell them apart the whole week.
I would lose every single time we played. Even though I was competing for a quarter, I would slip up, calling my aunt "Mom" when I glanced in the kitchen to see when dinner would be ready, or when I saw one of them walking toward the ocean, or when I just wasn't thinking straight.
Years later, they're as identical as ever -- and we all love to get together and celebrate their birthday.
This past weekend, the Moms and the rest of my family gathered at my grandparents' house to celebrate. Here are a few pictures from our day there. (Full disclosure: No quarters were lost this time around.)
